Terms of Service

Last updated: March 22, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PriceFetch API and website (collectively, the "Service"), operated by PriceFetch ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or using the API, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Please also review our Privacy Policy.

1. Overview

PriceFetch provides a REST API that returns real-time product pricing data from publicly accessible retail websites. The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis.

We retrieve pricing data by visiting publicly available product pages in real time. We do not access paywalled, restricted, or otherwise non-public content.

2. Accounts

To use the PriceFetch API, you must create an account and obtain an API key. By registering, you agree to the following:

  • You must provide a valid email address and accurate registration information.
  • One account per person or organization. Creating multiple accounts to exploit the free tier is prohibited.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
  • Your API key is confidential. Do not share it, embed it in client-side code, or publish it in public repositories.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account and API key.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use the PriceFetch API to build commercial and non-commercial applications. You agree not to:

  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute raw API access to third parties.
  • Send requests designed to overload, disrupt, or degrade the Service (DDoS, flooding, etc.).
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other technical restrictions.
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse the free tier or evade enforcement actions.
  • Share your API key publicly or with unauthorized parties.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.

Violation of this section may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

4. Credits & Payments

API usage is metered through a credit system. One successful API request consumes one credit. All prices are in USD.

  • Credit packs: One-time purchases. Credits from packs never expire.
  • Subscriptions: Auto-renew at the start of each billing cycle. You may cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Failed requests: Requests that fail due to a server-side error (5xx status codes) do not consume credits. You are only charged for successful price fetches.
  • Payment processing: All payments are handled by Stripe. By purchasing credits, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.
  • Price changes: We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' written notice. Changes apply at the next renewal date after the notice period.

See our Pricing page for current plans and credit pack options.

5. Refunds

  • Credit packs: Refundable within 7 days of purchase, provided no credits from the pack have been used.
  • Monthly subscriptions: Non-refundable for the current billing period. You will retain access until the end of the period after cancellation.

To request a refund, contact us through our support page.

6. API Keys

Your API key grants access to the PriceFetch API and must be treated as confidential.

  • Never share your API key publicly or embed it in client-side code.
  • If you suspect your key has been compromised, regenerate it immediately from your dashboard.
  • We may revoke API keys at any time if we detect abuse or violation of these Terms.

7. Data Accuracy

PriceFetch retrieves pricing data by scraping publicly accessible product pages in real time. We do not access paywalled, restricted, or otherwise non-public content.

  • Price data is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. Retailer websites may change their structure at any time, which can temporarily affect data availability or accuracy.
  • We only retrieve publicly visible prices. Personalized, member-only, or location-based pricing may differ from the data returned.
  • The data returned by PriceFetch does not constitute financial advice. You are responsible for independently verifying any pricing data before making business decisions.

8. Intellectual Property

The PriceFetch name, logo, API, website design, and documentation are owned by PriceFetch and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding without prior written permission.

Price data retrieved through the API originates from third-party retailer websites. We do not claim ownership of that data. You retain ownership of any applications, products, or services you build using the PriceFetch API.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PriceFetch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid to PriceFetch in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

PriceFetch is not responsible for any decisions, transactions, or actions taken based on price data returned by the API.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings. Upon deletion, your API key will be immediately deactivated and unused credits will be forfeited.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if we are required to do so by law. In cases of termination for cause, no refund will be issued for remaining credits or the current billing period.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Victoria, Australia.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and close your account. Please also review our Privacy Policy.
